Our latest podcast episode was extra special because we welcomed our very first guest—Christy from Tatting with Christy. Christy is a 40-year veteran of tatting and sewing, a beautiful old-world craft similar to crocheting but finished with a delicate, lace-like look that stops you in your tracks. She sews her own baby bonnets and hats, then elevates them by adding intricate tatting to each piece. We talked openly about ethical business practices, why they matter so deeply to us, and how staying grounded in our values sets us apart from the competition. We also shared a strong belief in community—seeing our businesses as vital spaces for both customers and fellow vendors. One of my favorite parts was our take on AI: we both embrace it as a helpful tool, but we know businesses like ours will never be replaced by AI alone, because real care, human connection, and next-level customer service can’t be automated. Christy also shared how our handcrafted lotions keep her hands soft, soak in fast, and never interfere with her yarn—which, if you know fiber artists, is about as real as praise gets.
